Franke Largo Workcenter - Ready for the US?…

The Franke team showcased a Franke European sink this past weekend at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF). The sink was brought to the show as a ‘concept sink’ so that feedback can be gathered on the sink for the US market. We are excited to say, there has been so much positive feedback on this Largo workcenter!

The sink has two integrated waste compartments. Suggested uses are for organic waste to compost and cleaning supplies such as sponges and brushes to keep the sink area tidy. Other features include a pop-up waste that is operated via a push-button, so that you can empty the bowl without putting your hands in the sink. To read full details on this sink, visit Franke’s UK website. Or - better still, take a look at the video link below and experience Franke’s Largo workcenter!

At the show, the sink was also awarded ‘The Architect’s Newspaper Spotlighimagets’ by Leslie Clagett, products editor for The Architect’s Newspaper and founder of KBCULTURE.com.

Tell us - what are your thoughts? Would you like to see this sink brought to the US? Please respond via this blog post!

It’s Spring cleaning time and although it’s probably not your favorite time of the year, it sure is a nice feeling when the cleaning is done!  I’ve scoured (no pun intended!) the internet for simple suggestions from various sources and these are some of the ones I find to be most helpful in getting your kitchen sparkling clean:

Clean inside of cabinets and drawers. Remove everything from inside cabinets, wipe down shelves, and replace and reorganize items. Do the same for drawers.   This is a good time to go thru and clean out unused and expired items. [Tidymom.net]

Dust and clean light fixtures. Take down any light fixtures and gently wash and dry them before replacing. If you have a light with exposed light bulb, turn the light off and when it’s cool, dust light bulbs too. [Tidymom.net]

Refrigerator - A good cleaning can make your refrigerator more efficient. Move it out from against the wall (if you can) to sweep behind it, and remove the grill to clean the coils. This will boost energy output, saving you money in the long run.

The sink! Did you know your sink can be one of the dirtiest spots in your home?
Franke recommends various methods for cleaning your sink, whether it is stainless steel, granite or fireclay. Please follow these instructions with the utmost care.

The Floors: Sweep the kitchen floor and follow by mopping using a solution of equal parts vinegar and hot water. The vinegar acts as a natural disinfectant and odor remover, and its scent will dissipate as it dries. [Foodnetwork.com]

Everyone is always looking for quick and easy ways to keep their kitchen clean. What do you find works best for your kitchen?
